Over decades whenever somebody in the family would sort out books they would not throw them away - these books ended up on our shelves. It was the covers of the crime novels dating back as far as the 1950ies that have been fascinating me ever since. At last I decided to upcycle them and have them turned into journals - journals that could well give evidence when and where a person has been: thus the name Alibi-Books.
The journals are hand sewn with coptic stitch (single needle) using thread in a colour matching the cover design; their size is approx. 11 x 18 cm. 120 pages. Every book is unique.
