Homburg Papermill has been built in the 17. century and originally was situated in Spessart. Due to a deteriorating water qualitiy in the course of the 19. century it was carefully broken down, transported to Homburg and rebuilt again.

All the equipment is still in place.

For more than 200 years the large wheel has been turning - meanwhile covered with moss.

After having undergone intensive refurbishing the mill re-opened as a museum in 1997. And in 1999 Johannes Follmer opend his Paper Manufactory.

Homburg Papermill is offering a Summerschool in September 2011 with workshops on papermaking, printing and bookbinding. Find out more about their courses here.

The museum opens from 1 Mai to 31 October every year.
